Daniel de Koning is a filmmaker and cinematographer fascinated by the architecture of light and the physics of storytelling. Born in South Africa, raised in the mountain kingdom of eSwatini, and educated in the United States, he now works internationally across narrative film, documentary, and experimental formats. Blending the precision of a technician with the instinct of an artist, Daniel’s work explores how light, lens, and human emotion can be engineered into something timeless.

My gear knowledge includes professional camera systems (Blackmagic, RED, Arri, Sony), prime and zoom lenses, gimbals, JIB, and drones. I am a Key rigging and lighting expert able to problem solve efficiently and safely and work with any complete on-location lighting kit. A relative Swiss Army Knife on set!
